10 What does all this mean? TDD is here to stay! TDD is here to stay! – ITU, 3GPP, and IEEE 802.16:Are already evaluating and standardizing TDD-based technologies to take advantage of licensed TDD spectrum. TDD has significant benefits for cellular networks:TDD has significant benefits for cellular networks: –Additional spectral efficiency, especially for Internet and data traffic –Simpler designs –Cheaper spectrum in Asia and Europe, potentially the US –High potential for Next Generation (e.g. 3G and B3G)
