PURPOSE Support school athletics, represent WRMS at community functions, be positive role models Aim to develop team building, communication skills, and leadership along with learning cheerleading techniques and crowd interaction skills

RESPONSIBILITY We would like for the culture of the team to be that cheerleaders are responsible for themselves. We want the girls to feel comfortable communicating with us and learn to deal with their own scheduling and other conflicts. Please encourage your daughter to contact us with any questions, conflicts, etc.

TRYOUTS!! Held in WRMS gym Clinic: April 18 and 19 (4:30-6) Mock tryout: April 20 Girls arrive at 4:30 Mocks begin at 5 Parent’s, friends, etc. Welcome!! Tryouts: April 21 Begin at 4:30

RESPONSIBILITY Girls are expected to follow the constitution that will be given to them after tryouts If you miss practice, you don’t cheer Demerit system Girls must adhere to school polices and rules

TRYOUTS!! Girls will perform a short cheer and dance that they learn during clinic They will display jumps and any tumbling skills that they feel confident performing without a spot Judges scores will be used to provide feedback to girls and build fair and equally experienced squad NO parent’s allowed in gym during tryouts

TEACHER EVALUATION FORMS Each girl will be responsible for turning in a teacher report form by Monday, April 18 th (the first day of clinic). They will not be allowed to try-out if the form is not completed

EXPECTATIONS FOR THE YEAR Cheer: A, B, and C football and boys and girls basketball games Squads will rotate which games they cheer. This scheduling information will be provided as early as possible Hour and a half long practices twice a week (after school) Adhere to all school rules and all rules in constitution Multiple fundraisers and service projects throughout the year

CAMP Camp is mandatory and will be held at the beginning of June (June 6-9) Team bonding, learn cheers, stunt techniques Very important start to the year!!

LEADERSHIP Leadership will be chosen after camp, but before the first football game (the number of captains/co-captains will be determined by coaches after try-outs) Everyone is eligible to hold a leadership position There will be an application process to be in leadership Decision will be made by coaches and approved by Mr. Waggoner We are looking for leaders who are able and willing to commit time and energy to bettering the team, encouraging teammates, and being a positive role model in as well as out of practices

We are SO excited to have the opportunity to work with your daughters!! We hope to make this year as fun as possible while working on cheerleading technique, promoting school spirit, and building team work, communication, and leadership skills
