CEEMAN AccreditationCape Town, 20092 Objectives To assist management development institutions in developing a clear and meaningful focus that will result in the creation and delivery of high quality relevant management education, knowledge, and materials appropriate to their environment; To identify the critical dimensions and criteria that an institution needs to follow in order to create, improve and sustain high quality relevant management education knowledge, and materials appropriate to its environment; To assure customers and users of an accredited institution that the institution is pursuing and achieving the critical dimensions and criteria for high quality relevant management education, knowledge, and materials appropriate to its environment

CEEMAN AccreditationCape Town, 20093 Objectives To help senior administrators, faculty members and staff working in management development institutions understand their role in the pursuit of the institution’s mission and focus, and encourage them to provide their own contributions to the institution‘s continuous self- improvement processes; To help management development institutions appropriately respond to the challenges of a fast changing environment.

CEEMAN AccreditationCape Town, 20094 Eligibility Accreditation is granted to the institutions (university faculties such as business schools, commerce schools, schools of management or schools of economics) that are engaged in the education of future managers and offer at least one degree program that is certified by the institutions national education standards;

CEEMAN AccreditationCape Town, 20095 Eligibility Programs must have a minimum cohort or annual year group intake of 25 students; Any institution that applies for accreditation from CEEMAN must be a CEEMAN member; Any institution that applies for accreditation must have at least five (5) years of continuous business/management education as part of their mission.

CEEMAN AccreditationCape Town, 20096 Benefits and Beneficiaries Business Schools: The self-assessment process enables the schools to review its mission, objectives, systems and actual performance in the light of the internationally agreed standards and specific local context The post-accreditation support help business schools to implement recommendations and guidelines and integrate them into continuous improvement programs

CEEMAN AccreditationCape Town, 20097 Benefits and Beneficiaries Faculty Members and Staff: To better understand the changing needs of their school’s environment To review the school’s mission and focus To understand their own role in the light of the internationally accepted standards and the specific local context To identify areas for self-improvement Assurance of the school’s legitimacy of a qualified provider of educational programs and services The post-accreditation support assist faculty members and staff to implement recommendations and guidelines and integrate them into continuous individual and institutional improvement programs

CEEMAN AccreditationCape Town, 20098 Benefits and Beneficiaries Corporate World: The employers are assured that they are recruiting professionals who have accomplished educational programs consistent with the schools mission in the specific environment Corporations feel confident that the quantum of knowledge, skills and attitudes acquired and developed at the accredited school qualify the schools’ graduates as competent managers and leaders capable of coping with the emerging management issues and business practices in their environment

CEEMAN AccreditationCape Town, 200910 Focus and Philosophy To assess whether an institution has a focus and mission relevant to its environment To assess whether the institution has ability and resources to pursue and achieve the institution’s focus and mission To assess success, results achieved, innovations and impact made To identify steps and actions needed to be taken in order to be successful within the frame of the focus set and mission stated To make the accreditation decision on whether the school is of high quality, is going to be with the suggestions made, or simply is not focused enough to be able to meet high level of output to its market

CEEMAN AccreditationCape Town, 200912 CEEMAN Accreditation Award Starting from 26 September 2007, institutions that apply for CEEMAN IQA for the first time will be granted accreditation for three years (upon successful completion of accreditation requirements). After three years, they may apply for a six-year reaccreditation. Institutions that have already been awarded CEEMAN IQA before 26 September 2007, will apply for six-year period re-accreditation.

CEEMAN AccreditationCape Town, 200913 Areas for Evaluation The mission and strategic focus given the demands and constraints of the available resources and the situation of the institution’s local environment; Progress with respect to the implementation of the mission and strategy; Consistency of programs, research, faculty, and resources with the mission and strategic focus of the institution;

CEEMAN AccreditationCape Town, 200914 Areas for Evaluation How the programs and research meet the needs of customers who are students/participants in the programs, or sponsors; The adequacy of resources, processes, faculty, and facilities to provide high levels of satisfaction and service; Demonstrated concern for issues of corporate social responsibility / responsible leadership / values and ethics; How the institution provides leadership to the relevant business community.
