Carl Anderson and Nigel Franks research focused on self organization in biological systems. Ken Thompson applied it to human interactions in High performance teams based on natures most successful designs.
5
Teams undertake different kinds of tasks Individual Task An individual task is one that can be completed by persons without any assistance. The group of individuals are on a team but work on their own.
6
Group Task A task that requires multiple team members to do the same activity concurrently is a group task. If a team does not have a clear understanding of roles then individual members end up doing the same tasks.
7
Partitioned Task Division of labour but the members are not required to work alongside each other Email and shared documents or assembly line type of organization can have many individuals working towards the common vision through their division of labour.
8
Team Task Multiple individuals performing different tasks parallel to each other. There is both division of labour and concurrency. This requires the most complex coordination between the team members with the tasks and is considered “real” teamwork.

Professional Athletes on Teams Tom Brady Won 3 Super bowls in 4 years 2 Time Super bowl MVP He has the highest winning percentage among active NFL quarterbacks with at least 25 career starts. Makes $30 million less than Payton Manning

Professional Athletes on Teams Michael Jordan There are plenty of teams in every sport that have great players and never win titles. Most of the time, those players aren’t willing to sacrifice for the greater good of the team. The funny thing is, in the end, their unwillingness to sacrifice only makes individual goals more difficult to achieve. One thing I believe to the fullest is that if you think and achieve as a team, the individual accolades will take care of themselves. Talent wins games, but teamwork and intelligence win championships. I Can’t Accept Not Trying
13
What is team bonding? Production vs Process What is more important? –The end goal being achieved or people feeling a part of the team and a sense of belonging?
14
