Standards Statements (5) Indicators (35) – Focus of internal review – Rated individually – Contain multiple concepts Evidence (multiple sources) Performance Rubrics – Four levels – No longer labeled © 2013 AdvancED6
7
New Protocol: Characteristics of Evidence Quality Matters – If the quality of evidence is high, it provides value to the accreditation process Results Matter – High performance and improving performance results are critical factors for an institution’s success – The new protocol is a performance-based system Quality Results © 2013 AdvancED7
8
Standards Review Each building will complete a review of the standards and provide: – A building rating by indicator – Examples of evidence
9
Activity: Performance Levels 1.Turn to indicator 3.3 2.Read the four performance levels 3.What words/phrases differentiate each level? © 2013 AdvancED9
11
Activity: Ratings & Evidence 1.Turn to Indicator 3.3 Concept Map 2.Discuss – How might this help your system determine the most accurate rating? – What other benefits are there to this version of the Self Assessment Workbook? – What evidence would your system have to support your rating? © 2013 AdvancED11
12
Activity: Standards Review 1.Join your expert group – 6 Per building – (2 for Standard 3) 2.Rate indicators – descriptive targets Determine performance level (4 point scale) – based on the statements from the concept map Identify supporting evidence 3.Identify strengths relative to the standard 4.Identify challenges relative to the standard © 2013 AdvancED12
13
Building Standard Summary For each Standard Provide: Short description of the indicator ratings – Strengths – Challenges
14
All schools should complete internal reviews long before the External Review so the system can adequately analyze the data. Complete Internal Review and submit all systems diagnostic results with evidence at least 4 weeks prior to External Review! Important Deadline © 2013 AdvancED14
