4 University of Edinburgh Assessment-Formal Assessment methods vary from course to course Balance between assessment components varies May include exams, essays, lab reports, literature reviews, group projects, practicals, language exercises It is vital that you present for exams and submit all coursework. Your transcript may be withheld or you may not receive a grade for a class if you fail to complete all assessment.

6 University of Edinburgh Personal Tutor(PT) You must attend your first PT meeting this week –some of you have appointments, others visit the school to set up. You are not fully-matriculated until you have met your PT PT is responsible for monitoring your academic progress Discuss course selections-any changes to classes must be made in first two weeks with PT Any academic difficulties report them to your PT

7 University of Edinburgh Key points Do not withdraw from classes without consulting your PT first Present for all exams and submit all written coursework on time A copy of transcript will be sent to you and your home University no later than the start of July If you are unsure of expectations ASK!
