1. The Juárez Chapter of the University of Texas at El Paso Alumni Association Scholarship Application Deadline to apply for this scholarship is Thursday, March 15, 2007. Applications must be delivered to the Office of Scholarships located at the Academic Services Building Room # 202. Applications are available at the Office of Scholarships or online at www.ia.utep.edu/alumniwww.ia.utep.edu/alumni go to Chapters and click on Juárez. Mailed applications must be postmarked by this date. Faxed or late applications will not be accepted. The Juárez Chapter Scholarship selection committee will reach a decision by March 30, 2007 and a letter will be sent to selected students. The students will be required to attend a special event in Juárez to "officially" receive the scholarship at a date to be determined later. Note: Additional information and free tickets for the student and one companion will be sent closer to the date of the event. Students who meet the following criteria are encouraged to apply by printing the following application: Criteria for this $500.00 scholarship to be awarded to a student enrolled at the University of Texas El Paso, are as follows: Full-time enrollment (Minimum of 12 hours per semester) Cumulative 3.0 GPA or higher Sophomore or Junior Must be a graduate from a high school in México Must include the following: 250 word essay on Career Goals and Objectives, academic achievements, and why you should be selected for this award Unofficial transcript Two letters of recommendation from professors This will be a one-time scholarship to be awarded for the Fall 2007 semester to the selected recipient.
