Assignment One – Design a Movie Poster Study this poster for clues to the various elements contained in a movie poster. Design a poster for the new version of the movie You Can't Take It With You that you are currently producing. (50 marks) Your poster must include the following a cast of characters - who will be starring in your movie? three quotes from the play graphics

Assignment Two – Create a Soundtrack Your soundtrack for You Can't Take It With You must meet the following criteria: (100 marks) 1. Choose at least 5 songs - one for each scene in the play, and an overall theme song - and the songs must reflect an aspect of that section of the text. Please type out the lyrics so that I am familiar with the text of your songs. 2. After each song, write a paragraph that explains the connections between the song and the text section using quotations from each. You will be explaining why you chose the song that you did for each scene. 3. Create the "jacket" for the C.D. or cassette.

Assignment Three – write a personal essay One appealing characteristic of the Vanderhof family members is each person's imaginativeness and industriousness. If you had the time and money to become completely immersed in some pursuit what would you choose? Write a composition explaining the activity and why you would devote yourself to it. (100 marks) You will write an essay of at least five paragraphs. Follow the outline below. 1. Introductory Paragraph - introduce your topic. Do NOT being by saying something like "In this essay I am going to tell you..." Rather, begin by stating, "If I had the time and money, I would devote my life to _____. I would pursue this activity because _____." And then move into body paragraph one. 2. Body Paragraph One Describe in detail the activity that you would pursue. 3. Body Paragraph Two Describe, in detail, why you would devote yourself to this activity - what appeal does it have for you? 4. Body Paragraph Three Describe, in detail, what you likely will end up doing for a career. (Many people choose "safe" over "exciting".) 5. Concluding Paragraph - summarize your essay Restate your main points, and suggest whether or not you will have to settle for something less exciting than your dream pursuit.
