There is increasing evidence that the use of ICT can: Help raise educational standards Enable institutions to manage their business more effectively Personalise learning Enable institutions to streamline processes.

Key messages from the evidence Realising benefits is dependent on ‘embedding’ Institutional/provider-level change is required to realise full benefits Learners of all ages are enthusiastic about learning using technology Effective investment in technology delivers results.

However …. We are not yet fully exploiting the benefits of technology for all learners.

Institutional e-maturity* is developing more slowly than general technology adoption and use. *E-maturity – is the capacity and capability of individuals and organisations to exploit the power of technology to improve educational outcomes. Becta, 2007

Aim / Vision Improve the use of learner focused technology and levels of e-maturity within providers in the FE and Skills sector and promote effective practice across the sector for all learners. create a prestigious and highly respected exemplar status that recognises a high level of achievement in the use of technology for the benefit of learners.
