5. John 3:1-21 Nico (Nicodemus) – was what we would call an Ivy League student by today’s standards. He loved to debate and argue. He was a religious leader that people looked up to. He was also on the Jewish Supreme Court (Sanhedrin - about 70 people). He was a thinker and an important man. He had heard of Jesus and the miracles he’d done – John 2 – Jesus turns water into wine at a wedding (interestingly enough – Jesus’ first miracle was done at a wedding and for a woman).
