4. 4 Department of Veterinary Parasitology Status of Implementation Plan Weaknesses identifiedAction taken  Shortage of Teaching staff One position of Professor has been filled.  Need of Teachers advance studies All teachers (except Professor) are PhD scholars, however, 2 of them (Nasreen Akhter and Javed A. Gadahi) are scheduled for overseas training in University of Rhode Island USA, and University of Southern Mississippi, USA, respectively).  Purchase of books and literature Little amount is available in the Departmental Budget, however, Higher Education Commission, is being approached for permission to use project funds for the purchase of books and journals (permission awaited).  Computer facility One computer along with scanners, printer, and photocopier has been purchased.  Installation of fire extinguishers Fire extinguishers have been purchased and installed.

5. 5  Local Trainings 2 training workshops were organized in which expert from University of Southern Mississippi USA delivered the training workshops.  Training in other universities Proposal for week-long training in University of Veterinary and Health Science Lahore has been submitted, response from concern university is awaited. However, as per verbal communication, the university authorities have approved the proposal. The work is in progress to further improve the department as per Implementation plan.
