Present Tense Verbs Level 2

We use singular and plural subjects in English. Singular: boy Plural: boys Our present tense verbs will need to agree with our subjects. »The boy LIKES pizza. »The boys LIKE pizza. We add an -s to the end of the verb to match the subject.

The Verb –to be in Present Tense I am happy. You are funny. He is good. She is pretty. It is hot. We are happy. They are good. You are smart. 1st 2nd 3rd 1st 3rd NOTE: The only time you add an –s to the end of the verb is when you use the third person singular!
