9.1 Protozoans A protozoan is a single-celled eukaryotic animal. Protozoans are most often placed in the Kingdom Protista with algae and slime molds. Protozoans need a moist environment to survive.

9.1 Structure and function of protozoans Ciliates are a group of protozoans that move by waving tiny, hair-like organelles called cilia.
