Religious rule keeping is not the way to a happy relationship with God Grace To Carry On

16: We know that a person is made right with God by faith in Jesus Christ, not by obeying the law … 16: no one will ever be made right with God by obeying the law. 19: when I tried to keep the law, it condemned me. 20: My old self has been crucified with Christ. 20: It is no longer I who live, but Christ lives in me. 21: For if keeping the law could make us right with God, then there was no need for Christ to die. 1.Religious rule keeping doesn’t make us right with God; only faith in Jesus does that 2.When we genuinely become Christians, we begin to change; from the inside out, not from the outside in 3.If we go back to external religious rule keeping and human effort, we are saying, “I don’t need Jesus”

YOUR LIFE: “After starting your Christian life in the Spirit, are you now trying to become perfect by human effort?” Don’t ask: “What is allowed? What are the rules?” Ask: “How can I live to most please God?” Grace To Carry On
