Wing All airplanes come equipped with ailerons and flaps, which are attached to the wings AILERONS extend from the midpoint of each wing to the outward tip, which move in opposite directions This allows for the plane to maneuver right and left FLAPS extend from the midpoint of each wing to the edge of the fuselage, which extend at multiple degrees Allow for an increase in lift for takeoffs and landings http://blog.sciencegeekgirl.com/2008/04/18/myth- 5-how-do-airplanes-fly/ More about how Wings Work
4
Powerplant The powerplant includes both the engine and the propeller, which are mounted on the front of the aircraft The primary function of the ENGINE is to provide power to turn the propeller Like a vehicle, is the main component of an aircraft The PROPELLER, is what acts as a forward-acting force called thrust. This helps move the airplane through air, as well as on ground

Landing Gear Landing gear is an important feature which allows for the plane to make a safe landing, consisting of 3 wheels There are two main wheels positioned underneath the fuselage One wheel positioned at the front of the aircraft, called the nosewheel Landing gear is an important feature which allows for the plane to make a safe landing, consisting of 3 wheels There are two main wheels positioned underneath the fuselage One wheel positioned at the front of the aircraft, called the nosewheel Tricycle Gear vs. Tail Dragger

Fuselage The fuselage houses the cabin/cockpit wich contains seats for the pilots and anyone on board. Inside the Fuselage you can find the controls and instruments. Empenage The empennage consist of the VERTICAL STABILIZER and HORIZONTAL STABILIZER The vertical stabilizer helps maintain a steady route through use of the rudder (attached to the vertical stabilizer) The horizontal stabilizer helps control elevation through use of the elevator (attached to the horizontal stabilizer) The empennage consist of the VERTICAL STABILIZER and HORIZONTAL STABILIZER The vertical stabilizer helps maintain a steady route through use of the rudder (attached to the vertical stabilizer) The horizontal stabilizer helps control elevation through use of the elevator (attached to the horizontal stabilizer) READ MORE
