Definition A personality disorder that is characterized by antisocial behavior exhibiting pervasive disregard for and violation of the rights, feelings, and safety of others starting in childhood or the early teenage years and continuing into adulthood

Symptoms Children with ASPD tend to be cruel to animals and set fires illegally. Often angry Arrogant manipulating others to get what they want acting witty and charming to get what they want lying frequently stealing acting aggressively and fighting often breaking the law not caring about personal safety or the safety of others not showing guilt or remorse for actions People who have ASPD have a higher risk of substance abuse. The National Institute on Alcohol Abuse and Alcoholism has linked alcohol use to increased aggression in people with ASPD

Causes The exact cause of ASPD is unknown. However, genetic and environmental factors may play a role. You may also be at greater risk of developing the disorder if you are male and if you: were abused as a child grew up with parents who have ASPD grew up with alcoholic parents

Other Information Depression leads to being antisocial Depression is the severe despondency and dejection, typically felt over a period of time and accompanied by feelings of hopelessness and inadequacy Child Abuse has been defined as an act, or failure to act, on the part of a parent or caretaker that results in the death, serious physical or emotional harm. This leads to being Antisocial also. An addiction to the consumption of alcoholic liquor or the mental illness and compulsive behavior resulting from alcohol dependency
