3. The Old Town Square and The Town Hall The old town square is located in the heart of the city. This is the most popular destination of citizens and tourists and the most important part of the city. In the middle of the square there is the town hall which is the residence of Wrocław’s president.

4. Panorama of Racławice In the Panorama of Racławice there is a circular picture which shows the Battle of Racławice (18th century).

5. Ostrów Tumski (Cathedral Isle) It’s the oldest part of Wrocław which is an isle on the Odra river. There are lots of churches and the cathedral.

6. Centennial Hall The Centennial Hall is a historic building in Wrocław. It was constructed according to the plans of Max Berg in 1911-1913, when the city was part of the German Empire. It was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2006.

7. Universities of Wrocław Wrocław is a city of young people with about 100 thousand of students studying at nine universities.

9. Wratislavia Cantans The Festival has been organised since 1966 and lasts about two weeks (a week in June an a week in September). There are concerts cantatas, symphonies, chamber music, opera and ballet performances, opening parties, sacral music of different religions, vocal and instrumental recitals and the so-called performances presenting music of various cultures.

10. Jazz upon Odra river The festival has been organised since 1964 in May, and it lasts three days. Each year there is a different leading theme. The most important part includes concerts of stars – the best Polish and foreign jazz musicians.

11. Students Rejoicing (Juvenalia) It has been organised since 1991 as an interdisciplinary artistic event. The programme includes concerts, happenings, contests, sport competitions, para-theatrical performances and open-air events.

12. Wrocław Non Stop It’s a cultural event containing all kinds of art. During the festival galeries, clubs, theatres and parks are full of different kinds of art.

13. One Love Sound Festival One Love is a reggae festival that takes place every year in Wrocław. During the festival there are lots of concerts of Polish and foreign reggae bands.

14. Era New Horizons The International Film Festival ERA NEW HORIZONS is a festival featuring unconventional, artistic, independent and sophisticated cinema – a kind of cinema that stirs emotions, sparks off heated debates and does not leave the public indifferent.

15. Wrocław Marathon The Marathon is nearly 42 kilometres long and takes place annually in the spring. Anyone 18 years old or older can participate. The competitors are graded separately (women, men, and both genders according to age), as well as team and wheelchair categories (women, men). The Marathon is accompanied by the Wroclaw Mini-Marathon covering a distance of approximately 4.2 km and a Children's Run with a distance of 500 to 1000 metres. People over 12 have the right to compete in the Mini-Marathon, while children between 8 and 13 can participate in the Children's Run.

16. Guiness Guitar Record in Wrocław Every year thousands of people gather in market square to play „Hey Joe” of Jimmy Hendrix. The event takes place on 1st of May.

17. Free Hugs Day Wrocław is a city of optimism and that’s why we celebrate a Free Hugs Day. It takes place in November and on that day we show everyone how nice we are.
