Detention Construction Issues Detention Wings Close coordination with on-site staff aided efforts. 4 wings – One under construction at a time in order to rotate occupants into the other wings during construction. Useful changes during product ordering came about due to more opportunity to talk with guards. Some existing condition surprises during construction.

Design Concerns/Resolutions Detention windows tend to be steel construction, not sound tested. Specification for windows may include multiple types and manufacturers to accommodate building sections Gasketing prone to destruction Door hardware and wiring require close coordination. Able to use Peerless sound rated product Used existing security mesures and laminated glass, able to use one window manufacturer throughout. Gasketing and screws in detention behind security Left existing frames and security locks in place
