What is Genetically modified foods Such artificially changed foods are a source of unfound arguments over the certainty of their long-term effects on humans and food chains.

Good of Genetically modified foods Ensuring an enough food supply for this booming population is going to be a major challenge in the years to come.

Bad of Genetically modified foods Just as the heavy use of antibiotics contributed to the rise of drug-resistant super germs, American farmers’ near-ubiquitous use of the weed killer Roundup has led to the rapid growth of tenacious new super weeds. The reason for this is that when a crop is repeatedly sprayed with Roundup to kill a given pest.

Why should we care Genetic engineering of crops is a complex issue. It is also an issue with far reaching implications for the environment and for people, for the way crops are produced and the world’s people are fed.
