Invest enough time to understand the nature and scope of the business, key challenges, as well as short and long term objectives. Develop a comprehensive position description, candidate profile, and target compensation level with the senior executives to whom the position will report.

Engage an international search firm that can demonstrate extensive experience in the country and industry involved. Require the search firm to prepare a realistic assessment of the potential availability of suitable candidates.
