Community service is one of the Four Avenues of Service which encourages Rotarians to offer service to their communities. Every Rotary club and every Rotarian assumes a responsibility to find ways to improve the quality of life for those in their communities and to serve the public interest.

3 Community Service Community Service What is Community Service?  Encouraging and fostering the ideal of service to the personal, business and community life of every Rotarian.  Opportunities for every Rotarian to exemplify “Service Above Self”.  A chance to respond to the needs of a local community.

5 Community Service 7 Service Opportunities Highlights for 2010-2011 1. Complete a significant signature community service project involving virtually all your active membership and document it via video or pictures. 2. Conduct one or more successful fundraising events in order to fund the meaningful projects in your community. 3. Undertake a community service project that falls within one of the six areas of focus in the Foundation Future Vision plan 4. Spend more time and money on Rotary projects than funding other organizations projects that don’t have a clear involvement of Rotary (partnerships that recognize Rotary are great).
