Hebrews 11: 6 "But without faith it is impossible to please Him, for he who comes to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of those who diligently seek Him." (NKJV)
3
Do You Believe He Is? A.It is a fundamental need for faith. B.It is a requirement for coming to God. C.It is a necessity for being a Christian. "…for he who comes to God must believe that He is…"

Jeremiah 9: 23, 24 "Thus says the LORD: 'Let not the wise man glory in his wisdom, Let not the mighty man glory in his might, Nor let the rich man glory in his riches; But let him who glories glory in this, That he understands and knows Me, That I am the LORD, exercising lovingkindness, judgment, and righteousness in the earth. For in these I delight,' says the LORD."
5
I.Arguments For Existence A.Ontological Argument. Since we have an idea of a supremely perfect being, we must conclude that a supremely perfect being exists. "He who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; he who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed the testimony that God has given of His Son." (1 John 5: 10 NKJV)
6
Problem With This Argument A.For the Bible. There are many things we imagine which do not actually exist. B.For Evolution. Every nation or group of people throughout history have a belief in a supreme being or beings.
7
I.Arguments For Existence A.Ontological Argument. Everything that exists has a cause. The earth exists and therefore must have a creator. "Lift up your eyes on high, And see who has created these things, Who brings out their host by number; He calls them all by name, By the greatness of His might And the strength of His power; Not one is missing." (Isaiah 40: 26 NKJV) B.Cosmological Argument.
8
Problem With This Argument A.For the Bible. If everything must have a cause, then God must have a cause, God's creator must have a cause, etc. B.For Evolution. If everything must have a cause, then the Big Bang, the nothing, etc. must have a cause.
9
I.Arguments For Existence A.Ontological Argument. Since the universe and living things exhibit marks of design in their order, consistency, unity, and pattern, a designer must therefore exist. "For since the creation of the world His invisible attributes are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even His eternal power and Godhead, so that they are without excuse." (Romans 1: 20 NKJV) B.Cosmological Argument. C.Teleological Argument.
10
Problem With This Argument A.For the Bible. Evidence of design is subjective and anything which is disorganized would disprove the existence of a designer. B.For Evolution. There are so many extremely complex designs in nature, that it is highly unlikely they happened by chance.
11
I.Arguments For Existence A.Ontological Argument. Throughout history, people have had "a sense of ought." This sense of morality must have a moral legislator. "For when Gentiles, who do not have the law, by nature do the things in the law, these, although not having the law, are a law to themselves, who show the work of the law written in their hearts, their conscience also bearing witness, and between themselves their thoughts accusing or else excusing them." (Romans 2: 14, 15 NKJV) B.Cosmological Argument. C.Teleological Argument. D.Moral Argument.
12
Problem With This Argument A.For the Bible. There are many varying differences between cultures of what is right or wrong. What is right in one culture is wrong in another. B.For Evolution. Generally, there are morals which are standard over a majority of the cultures. Cultures without any morals result in anarchy and self-destruction.

II.JUST THE FACTS? A.Eye Witness Testimony. Two people seeing the same thing can have differing accounts of what happened.
14
II.JUST THE FACTS? A.Eye Witness Testimony. B.Scientific Facts. Two scientists can view the same set of facts and come to opposite conclusions.
15
II.JUST THE FACTS? A.Eye Witness Testimony. B.Scientific Facts. C.An Individual Choice. You must choose to either believe the Bible or to believe Evolution.

Do You Believe He Is? This Is The Most Fundamental Point Of Distinction For Being A Christian. "Now the just shall live by faith; But if anyone draws back, My soul has no pleasure in him." But we are not of those who draw back to perdition, but of those who believe to the saving of the soul." (Hebrews 10: 38, 39 NKJV)
