What is Green Impact? - Departmental accreditation scheme with an awards element -History Founded upon Green Impact Students’ Unions awards Piloted at the University of Bristol three years ago 22 Universities took part in 2009/10 35 Universities and colleges took part in 2010/11 47 Universities and colleges in 2011/12

Green Impact Today 47 institutions and 105 Student Unions Over 800 teams, 1000s of staff involved Over 10,000 actions! 19 institutions in the Labs Tab Catering and Accommodation pilots External piloting by SMEs, local authorities & NHS Schools and international institutions

The success factors Covers whole sustainability agenda, from environment to ethical issues such as Fairtrade and human rights A Bottom-up approach helps champions to encourage colleagues to change working practices Is an off-the-shelf action plan for taking practical action to green departments Celebrates and share individual achievements
