2 UL Control DG Report Summary UL Control had two sessions Monday, 7:00pm – 10:00pm Thursday, 8:00am – 9:45am All 26 amendment contributions related to UL Control were presented except one (see slide 3). Some straw polls were conducted to determine the group’s preference for a framework for a first draft of amendment text (see slide 4). Need Chair’s guidance regarding constitution and scope of the drafting group (DG)

3 Contribution List The Chairs provided a list of 26 contributions that were determined to be within the scope of UL Control The latest version of the following contributions were presented and reviewed. 066, 198, 222, 223, 224, 225, 238, 239, 240, 241, 243, 248, 254, 271, 289, 290, 291, 292, 293, 294, 335, 346, 348, 349 One contribution was not reviewed (253) and the author is OK with it

Straw Polls for Forming DG The following straw polls related to drafting group formation were conducted Formation of UL Control Drafting Group (DG) after Jan. IEEE meeting 12 (in favor) vs. 2 (opposed) DG to be formed with one lead participant from each UL Control proposal. Additional support from co-authors is allowed to cover different subjects (CQICH, HARQ ACK/NACK, BW REQ, Ranging, Sounding)

5 Going Forward Recommend that the Drafting Group continues after the Jan. IEEE meeting with the charter to produce amendment text for the March meeting The text should include reasonable design details Include details of how it fits with other part of the system (PHY Structure, [MIMO feedback], etc) DG’s tentative DG plan and schedule are: 2 CCs per week Monday 2-4 PM PST Thursday 7:30-9:30 PM PST Chair will send out detailed plan and schedule within one week
