How do you get there from here? –Work back from the end product (what is your message?) –Put yourself in the mindset of a decision maker –Assume you know the answers. Now, how should you present them?

You’re an Information Manager! –2 to 10 seconds to hook ‘em –Not “Super-Sizing®” your paper –“A picture is worth 1000 words”, but 1000 words doesn’t paint the picture –If you can’t draw it, who needs it? –Work from an outline of key points, not a draft of a paper

Plan the work and work the plan –The triple-constraint. Time = fixed. Budget = fixed. Scope = your only hope –Breaking news: You own the project plan! –Lights! Action! CUT! CUT! CUT! (managing “hope-creep”) –Plan to complete two weeks before the session

“The devil’s in the details” –Font size: minimum is 16 pt. 24 is better. Title > 72 pt. –Your print shop and you: Meet early, meet often, and always follow their instructions to the letter. Cookies help –Images: Beware of JPEGs. PDF and Visio scale better.
