9.  Population Growth clip Population Growth clip  In 1800 the world population was about 800 million  In 2000 the world population was 6 billion – eight times larger!  Over 75 million more people are added to the world population each year  By 2050 the world population is expected to be 9 billion

15. A growth in the demand for food and material goods In today’s world, people tend to want more things and more food. This growth in demand has pros and cons. + farmers can grow more + countries that manufacture things cheaply prosper -Further use of natural resources -Countries where it costs more to manufacture things, lose their industry and people lose their jobs
