2 Clothing Women wear baggy trousers, long shirts belted with sash, and a cotton cloth to cover their head. They must wear pants underneath or they will be considered immodest and have a harder time with how men treat them. Men wear loose fitting shirts that goes to their knees, full trousers tied at the waist with a string, and a vest is usually worn over the shirts. The adult males wear turbans. Their footwear consist of chaplay, thick leather shoes. The clothing they wear really reflect on their cultural beliefs.

3 What does an Afghan’s clothing choices suggest about their position in the culture?
Women’s clothing emphasizes a wife look because they save their beauty for their husbands. Men’s clothing demonstrates a look of royalty because of their exotic turbans and white qmis (loose fitting shirt).

4 What does traditional Afghan clothing suggest about cultural values?
The Afghan people like everything to be modest. The clothing is fitted to religious needs.

5 How do Afghan recreational activities illustrate cultural priorities?
Kite fighting: a game where they try to cut one another kite string with their kite and see whose kite last the longest. Hound racing Buzkaski: a horse mounted player attempts to drag a goat or calf carcass toward a goal.
