3.  Many decisions by producers will be influenced by the reasons the owners are in business.

4.  Profit is the main goal of a producer.  Profit Maximisation = To make as much profit as possible  Profit is the reward for taking a risk  Firms will maximise profit by making as much revenue as possible and keeping costs low

5.  Sales Maximisation = To make as many sales as possible  A new business may have their main goal as Sales Maximisation.  This is to increase market share and compete against existing businesses

6.  Satisficing = obtain a certain amount of profit and enjoy the lifestyle.

7.  A business that has its main goal as quality will strive to have the best product possible and will put this before volume of sales and profit. E.g. Dell Laptops
