1. How To Motivate Your Child to Read

2. Learn more about your child's interests Try to provide books and magazines that will appeal to those interests. Children are more apt to read material that is interesting to them and entertaining to them.

3. Check to see if there are any good books made into movies  Maybe after seeing the movie, he/she would like to read the book. The book is ALWAYS better.

4. Places you have visited or plan to visit  How exciting to read about a place you have been or a place you plan to visit. Think of all the connections a child could make.

5. Keep lots of books, magazines, newspapers, and other reading materials around the house. Children can’t read if there is nothing there to read.

6. Read books with your children!  Surprisingly, children of all ages love to be read to.

7. Be a good role model.  Let your children see you reading.
