God’s Will For Your Life: Discipleship Matthew 28:18-20 – making disciples of Jesus is God’s clear will for our lives What’s a “disciple”? Someone who is committed to: Declaration (becoming a Christian) Development (spiritual growth) Deployment (serving Christ’s kingdom)

God’s Will For Your Life: Discipleship Declaration (becoming a Christian) Disciples trust in Jesus as Savior – “baptizing them in the name of…” Disciples submit to Jesus as Lord – “All authority… has been given to me”

God’s Will For Your Life: Discipleship Development (spiritual growth) Disciples are dedicated to a lifetime of learning and obeying God’s Word “teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you”

God’s Will For Your Life: Discipleship Deployment (serving Christ’s kingdom) John 15:8 – God receives glory when his people “bear fruit” “Bearing fruit” = living out the Gospel, and passing on what I’ve learned “go and make disciples…”

God’s Will For Your Life: Discipleship To Make Disciples (simple definition) when a Christian takes what he/she has learned about following Jesus, and passes it on to other Christians.

God’s Will For Your Life: Discipleship Living it out When seeking out God’s will in a given situation: Consider which alternative will best position you to make disciples. This is a priority concern. Invite wise, mature Christians in to the decision making process before it’s final.
