A few facts and figures Founded in 2003 in Lausanne… Flavie has 500 members: people with burns, professionals in burn-related fields, friends and volonteers, out of a total population of 2,000,000 0.3% full time employees, committee members’ expenses paid Yearly operating budget of 30,000 € – Donations and membership fees are sole sources of funding

2 members’ meetings (winter/summer) held Initiation of a survey on the needs of burn victims New fund for dermopigmentation set up « Benjamin Bear » comic used in one of the two burn centres Took part in producing a brochure for parents of hospitalised children – It describes the different treatments and care their children are likely to receive Contacts with Zürich hospital with a view to establishing an association in the German-speaking region of Switzerland and sharing practices Key achievements in 2010

We receive little feedback on the activities we initiate and few requests for help. – Should we be using our energy for something other than support to burn victims? – Should we continue but in a different way ? Funding for medium-size projects is «easy» to find, but we get no state support toward Flavie’s operating costs. – How can our association achieve long-term financial sustainability? What ideas or «best practices» could you suggest ? Two questions on our minds
