3 Magnifying Tools This tool is used to make small objects appear larger. It lets you see details that you can’t see with your eyes alone. Microscope

4 Hand Lens or Magnifying Glass This tool is held in your hand to help make objects appear larger than they are with just your eyes. Magnifying Box This tool is used to put bugs, pebbles, or other small objects in to make them appear larger than they are with just your eyes.

5 Balance Scale Gram/school balance Triple beam Digital Double Pan This tool measures the mass of objects. These four balance scales will measure the same, but work differently.

6 Spring Scale This tool is used to measure force such as weight or friction. It measures in units called Newtons. You usually hang your objects from it.
