European Creative Ring The Concept Target community model: open and peer-to-peer collaboration – Creative industries (comprising cultural, media, arts, advertising and other sectors), – Local artists, universities, local authorities – ICT companies in each city and region What to offer – Technical solutions at infrastructural level – Future Internet systems and applications – Innovative content Eventually, internationalization of creative activities A new experimental community and platform for sharing creative and innovative content and activities all over Europe, using advanced Internet technologies and networks.

Creating the ECR: generate new collaborations Community Level: bringing creative industries together – much larger scale – much higher diversity level Physical location level: exchanging creative ideas with more creative industries – common goal - diverting background – Creative Hubs allow being “home abroad” Technology level: share ever more – platforms, content and services,.... – with each of the other local Creative Hubs Use case level: – re-realised in other Creative Hubs – enriched with different local content and/or components

What next?... Business Processes Service Catalogues Networking Infrastructure – to clarify the role of GEANT (the high bandwidth pan-European research and education backbone) Investigate the scenarios considered – Co-creation –research-like – and joint performances – Commercial activities? Getting easier to integrate more partners and more creative hubs to the European Creative Ring, from a supporting networking infrastructure point of view Additional viewpoints – Interworking platforms – Local content – Localisation requirements etc.
