3 Hi! You need: Pencil/pen A Long Way Gone Packet Journal (1/13/15): Cassandra Callender is a 17-year-old from Hartford, Connecticut who was diagnosed with Hodgkin’s lymphoma last year. While Cassandra and her parents want to refuse treatment, doctors argued otherwise. Yesterday at court, the judge ruled that Cassandra lacked the maturity to understand the severity of her prognosis and sided with doctors and the Department of Children and Families. The DCF have since taken temporary custody of the teen to mandiate that the teen receives medical care.
