5 Definition of Sentence
Sentence: A sentence is a combination of words arranged in such an order that it is expresses a complete sense or meaning.

6 Classification of sentence
There are five kinds of sentence. Assertive Interrogative Imperative Optative Exclamatory

7 Assertive sentence The great leader Sheikh Mujibur Rahman was calling the countrymen to free our country. The girl is reading a book. Assertive: A sentence that makes a statement is called an assertive sentence

8 Interrogative sentence
What is your name? What are you reading? Interrogative: A sentence that asks a question is called an Interrogative sentence.

9 Group Work Give 5 examples of assertive and imperative sentence.

10 Optative sentence May Allah bless you.
Optative: A sentence that expresses a wish or desire is called optative sentence.

11 Let us go to class. Imperative sentence Read the lesson attentively.
Please give me a glass of water Imperative: A sentence that expresses a propose, advice or request is called an Imperative sentence.

12 Exclamatory sentence How sweet the song is!
Hurrah! We have won the match. How sweet the song is! How pathetic the Savar tragedy is! Exclamatory: A sentence that expresses a strong feeling is called an Exclamatory sentence.
