The circumference is the distance around a circle. The radius is the distance from the center to any point on a circle. The diameter is the distance across a circle through its center. The center is the center point of the circle.

Circumference The circumference of a circle is equal to π times its diameter. π (Greek) = 3.1415926… or 3.14 Formula: C = πd

Examples Find the circumference of the circles. 1.2. 6 in. 2.4 ft.

On You Own… Find the circumference of each circle. Round to the nearest tenth. 1. d = 15 cm 2. r = 4.5 yd
