A pictorial depth cue is an inaccurate perception our brain has. In involves distance, shape & size. I found 5 for each pictorial depth cue and explained how it effected the movie.

Showing the road ahead while they were driving. - This showed how far they were driving and that the road they were on was very long. Looking up at building from below. -This shows how big the building they are walking into is. Path of mountains from far away. -Gives us an idea of where they are and how big the area is. Lights on ceiling in store as they go further away. -Shows how long the store is and how far they have to walk. Street lights look like they begin to merge. -This shows how long the street is and how far they have walked.

A kid kick toward screen. -This made it look as if he was kicking toward us. Camera zoomed up on small toy truck and street with mailbox then zoomed out. -This made the toy truck look real and like we were looking at a scene when we weren’t. Light of RV driving from far away Trees look smaller and smaller as they get further away. -This shows how far the trees go. Mountain looks small from far away and huge zoomed up. -Tricks you into thinking that the mountain is little until you get up close.

Sky behind mail box and light post. -This shows that the mail box and light post are in front of the sky as we see it. A car in front of another that looks identical. -This shows that there are two cars but it looks like one. Mountains behind mountains. -Makes it seem like one big mountain when it’s not. Bushes behind bushes. -Makes it look like one big bush but it’s not. Bikes lined up. -You can see what bike is in front of the other because they are all different.

Road sign from above. -It looks small but isn’t. Lights from far away. -They look fuzzy. Bikes get harder to see detail. -Distance makes detail harder to see. Broken class. -Up close it looks sharp but from far away it looks like water.

Driving -Looks like trees are moving slow from far away. Space ship movie quickly. -Looks like dog is getting closer from certain angle. Car flipping. -Makes it seem like you are flipping. Mountains. -They look like their moving while looking out RV while driving. Gate -Looks like it moves backwards when driving under it and looking up.
