How does sound travel? Sound travels with sound waves.

Sound can go through matter. Matter is anything that has mass and can take up space like a table or a chair.

How can you change the pitch on a stringed instrument? You can change the sound by plucking it in different places. How does frequency effect pitch? The higher the frequency the higher the pitch.

How does energy affect volume? When volume is louder it has more energy so the energy makes it louder.

The bounce of a sound wave of a surface is called reflection. The disappearance of a sound wave into a surface is called absorption. Some examples of reflection when you hit a baseball and some examples of absorption the ball hitting the baseball mitt.

Echo is sound that bounces of a wall, cave, and other surfaces. They create the echo by the sounds bouncing of the surface.

Like a bat they stay in caves so they can use echolocation because sound bounces of the surfaces and in there ears. Also sometimes blind people use tools that use echolocation.
