Calmness In The Midst Of Chaos Habakkuk 3:16-19 Hab 3:16-19 I heard and my inward parts trembled, At the sound my lips quivered. Decay enters my bones, And in my place I tremble. Because I must wait quietly for the day of distress, For the people to arise who will invade us. 17 Though the fig tree should not blossom And there be no fruit on the vines, Though the yield of the olive should fail And the fields produce no food, Though the flock should be cut off from the fold And there be no cattle in the stalls, 18 Yet I will exult in the LORD, I will rejoice in the God of my salvation. 19 The Lord GOD is my strength, And He has made my feet like hinds' feet, And makes me walk on my high places

We live in a time of crisis and chaos Everything nailed down seems to be coming loose. Attitudes are changing and stability is under attack This lesson simply reminds us of a few things we should be doing in times like these?

Live With Assurance 1 st John 5:13 Why are we so timid and afraid to say, “I’m saved” Some raise an eyebrow if we talk about grace and fail to talk about the possibility of falling from it 1 John 5:13 These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, so that you may know that you have eternal life. Surely we should warn of falling from grace (Gal 5:4) But not to the exclusion of standing and rejoicing in it (Romans 5:2) Gal 5:4 You have been severed from Christ, you who are seeking to be justified by law; you have fallen from grace Rom 5:2 through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we rejoice in the hope of the glory of God.

Love The Truth Truth sometimes hurts, but it never harms (1 st John 5:3) So much of our modern “preaching” isn’t preaching at all. It isn’t even meddling. It avoids the negatives and escapes the unpleasant. (2 nd Tim 4:3-4) We don’t need “truthful” sermons, we need sermons that tell us the “truth.” 1 John 5:3 This is love for God: to obey his commands. And his commands are not burdensome 2 Tim 4:3-4 For the time will come when they will not endure sound doctrine; but wanting to have their ears tickled, they will accumulate for themselves teachers in accordance to their own desires, 4 and will turn away their ears from the truth and will turn aside to myths. Facts about the Truth: 1.It is better to be divided by truth, than united in error. 2.It is better to speak the truth that hurts and heals than lies that comfort and kill 3.It is better to be hated for telling the truth, than liked for telling a lie. 4.It is better to stand alone with the truth, than be wrong with a multitude. 5.It is better to ultimately succeed with truth, than to temporarily succeed with a lie

Remember Our Mission Mark 16:15-16 Too often we cannot heal those wounded by Satan because we’re too busy bandaging our own self- inflicted scratches Remember the reason Jesus became a man (Luke 19:10) Mark 16:15-16 And He said to them, " Go into all the world and preach the gospel to all creation. 16 " He who has believed and has been baptized shall be saved; but he who has disbelieved shall be condemned. Luke 19:10 "For the Son of Man has come to seek and to save that which was lost."

Remember The Power of Prayer Never forget the effectiveness of prayer (James 5:16) Always remember privilege of prayer Realize your dependence on God at all times (1 st Thess 5:17) James 5:16 Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another so that you may be healed. The effective prayer of a righteous man can accomplish much. 1 Thess 5:17 pray without ceasing;
