Health- Talent 21 Let’s Learn More About Recycling!
3
Teen Health Text Book- Quiz I had 6 yes answers. That means I’m an average Earth friend. I can improve my score by taking quicker showers. Also by putting a plastic bag in my pocket to pick up trash where ever there’s litter but no trash can nearby.

Say you had an empty 2 Liter soda bottle. What would YOU do with it? Recycling is obviously the way to go with it. You could even make something out of it yourself, which is a great form of recycling. But a problem about that is worldwide. Nobody thinks about what they do before they do it, or they plain just don’t care. So they just throw it out into a regular trash can. Or even worse, litter. If I got creative with an empty 2 Liter soda bottle, there’d be all kinds of different things I could make. You could make them too! One good idea of something I could make is a plastic piggy bank.
5
The two liter soda bottle Piggy Bank. My mom is loaning me 4 plastic shot glasses, which I could glue to the bottle while it is on its side; this will act as legs and keep the bottle from rolling. Then I would cut a thin, rectangular hole on the side opposite of the legs, as the coin slot. Then I could paint the rest of the bottle and make it look like a pig, with the lid part being the snout.

Reduce, Reuse, Recycle, and React? Almost everybody knows the 3 R’s. If you don’t, they’re reduce, reuse, and recycle. Has anyone ever thought of a 4 th R? Probably not, but I have. React. You may be wondering what it means, and I’ll tell you. I chose react as a 4 th R because people need to react to the world around them. People litter and pollute and don’t really think about it, but they know the world is being polluted. If people react to that, they might come to there senses and do something other than pollute!

People have the choice to help the environment, but they usually choose not to. How can you help save the environment? At home, at school, and in your community? There are a lot of things I can do to help the environment. At home, I could start to take quicker showers. At school, I could encourage people to recycle more; there’s recycling trash cans in almost every room, but students usually don’t care. And in the community, I could carry a plastic bag into the woods and put litter into it to properly throw it away when I get home.

Paper recycling and Trees Do you know how many trees recycling paper can save? This should give you a relative idea. Recycling 1 ton of paper can save about 17 mature trees. This may not seem like much, but trees are very important so every single one saved counts. This will very much surprise you. Recycling half of the world’s paper would save 20,000,000 (20 million) acres of forest. That’s billions of trees, which are a necessity to human life’s survival. Now don’t you want to recycle paper?
9
Plastic Needs Recycling Did you know how many plastic bottles are thrown away by Americans yearly? If not, this will make you want to reuse them. 35,000,000 (35 million) plastic bottles. Now do you feel bad for not recycling plastic? Or if you do, do you see why you do?

PSA- Energy Saving Rap (lyrics) We tryin’ to save energy, we tryin’ to do it right When you leave a room, you should turn off the light When you brushin’ yo teeth, you should turn off the water Everytime you don’t, you go wastin’ a quarter Don’t leave yo fridge open, it’ll make yo house cold You won’t save energy, and your food’ll grow mold Make a few changes around your house You can help save energy, and that’s what it’s all about

Hope you enjoyed! That’s all folks!
