Risk Factors for Chronic Disease Overweight/Obesity Physical Inactivity Tobacco Use High Cholesterol High Blood Pressure

Risk Factor: Overweight/Obesity Obesity is an excess of body fat that frequently results in a significant harm to your health. Overweight and obesity are both labels for ranges of weight that are greater than what is generally considered healthy for a given height.

Risk Factor: Physical Inactivity- not moving or excising your body.

Risk Factor: Tobacco Use smoking cigarettes or chewing tobacco

Risk Factor: High Cholesterol a fatty substance found in animal tissue and is an important component to the human body. It is manufactured in the liver and carried throughout the body in the bloodstream. Problems can occur when too much cholesterol forms an accumulation of plaque on blood vessel walls, which impedes blood flow to the heart and other organs.

Risk Factor: High Blood Pressure "Blood pressure" is the force of blood pushing against the walls of the arteries as the heart pumps out blood. If this pressure rises and stays high over time, it can damage the body in many ways.
