JOURNAL The book Kiln People by David Brin, "is about a society where you can create clay copies of yourself to do various tasks (menial, dangerous) while you do something else, then at the end of the day, you download their memroies back into you." If you had ten copies of yourself to use today, what would have you have them do? Be specific!

WORD OF THE DAY menial any work which does not require much skill and lacks prestige Mr. Walker’s assignments never seemed MENIAL to me.

LINES WE LOVE “Willow Springs. Everybody knows but nobody talks about the legend of Sapphira Wade. A true conjure woman: satin black, biscuit cream, read as Georgia clay: depending upon which of us takes a mind to her. She could walk through a lightning storm without being touched; grab a bolt of lightning in the palm of her hand; use the heat of the lightning to start the kindling going under her medicine pot: depending on which of us takes a mind to her. She turned the moon into slave, the stars into a swaddling cloth, and healed the wounds of every creature walking up on two or down on four.” ~Gloria Naylor, Mama Day
