1 References to “Romeo and Juliet” Created by: India, Kadie, Ginger, and Hannah S.

2 Film: “Gnomeo and Juliet” The entire film is basically the exact same plot as “Romeo and Juliet,” but with a few twists. For one, instead of human characters they’re garden gnomes. Another difference is that Gnomeo and Juliet don’t die in the end. Therefore, it has a happy ending instead of a tragic ending.

3 Film: “West Side Story” “ West Side Story” is about two rival gangs located in New York City. The plot of this film is very similar to “Romeo and Juliet” with only a few differences. One is clearly the setting of New York City in the 1950s compared to Verona in the 1500s. The two opposing gangs represent the Capulets and the Montagues.

4 Book: “Julie and Romeo” Written by: Jeanne Ray Jeanne Ray wanted to write about 2 vital, attractive individuals over 60 who fell in love. While watching “Romeo and Juliet”, the question “What if the grandparents fell in love?” Came up. She reread the play and realized it was perfect to write about.

5 Book: “David and Lisa” A sarcastic, angry young man named David and Lisa, the girl with extremely messy hair. Both David and Lisa shut out the world by refusing to communicate with others. Soon David and Lisa show interest in each other, finally both, David and Lisa, break out of their routines and start communicating with each other. After being yelled at on a train, they both go back to the normal habits of each other.
