Free Verse Free Verse is a form of Poetry composed of either rhymed or unrhymed lines that have no set fixed metrical pattern

Homework Write a poem describing the significance of your name, OR write a poem in the style of Patricia Smith’s “Shoulda Been Jimi Savannah” Your poem should employ free verse and should include all of this week’s devices: –Imagery --sound devices –Diction --figurative lang.

“Shoulda Been Jimi Savannah,” by Patricia Smith Read and annotate the poem directly on the handout. (figurative language, imagery, diction and sound devices) Then, select one of the elements you noticed and write a paragraph discussing how it contributes to the overall meaning of the poem.
