Focus: Vocabulary and Predictions 1. Read Super Storms on pages 96-117. 3. Wednesday 1. Focus: Compound Words 2. Continue reading Super Storms on pages 196-117. 3. Begin the comprehension packet for Super Storms. 4. Thursday 1. Focus: Repetition and Word Choice 2. Finish reading Super Storms on pages 196-117. 3. Continue working on comprehension packet. Friday 1. Finish the comprehension packet for Super Storms and turn into the reading file. 4 Noise Level 1 Monday 1. Complete the quotation mark activity. 1. Tuesday 1. Think about two characters that might be talking to each other. One could be telling a joke to the other. Maybe they are talking on the phone about what they did over the weekend. Use the organizer to decide on the characters and what they are talking about. 2. Wednesday 1. Write a dialogue between the two characters. Start a new paragraph each time a new character speaks. Be sure to use quotation marks around what the people are saying. Use lively words to make the characters interesting. 3. Thursday 1. Continue writing the conversation that your two characters are having. 4. Friday 1. Edit your writing. Do the characters’ words show what they are like. Did you vary your sentences? Would this sound interesting if you read it aloud? Read it to a partner. Complete the final draft of your dialogue writing and turn into the writing file. 5 Noise Level 0 1.Choose a library book or a book of choice that you have not read. 2.Be sure you picked a book that you can read alone. 3.Silently read. 4.After you finish your book, write the name of the book in your Data Binder. 5.Be sure to fill in the information about your book in your binder. 6.If you can answer all the questions in your Data Binder, get your laptop and log on to AR to take your test. 7.Record your AR score in your Data Binder.
