2 Club Vision The Nutrition Advocate Club’s (NAC) vision is to develop creative ways to promote a healthy lifestyle through good nutrition and physical activity.

3 Mission Statement To promote good nutrition and physical activity on campus and in the community through educational and recreational events.

5 NAC Duties Member duties are to: –Attend meetings regularly –Be respectful during meetings –Develop creative ways to promote a healthy lifestyle through good nutrition and physical activity –Participate in club committees to assist in coordinating events and presentations –Serve as a link between students and food service

6 Promote Health Promote nutrition and physical activity information by: – Flyers – Website – Conversation with other students – Coordinating promotional events – Public Announcements (PA) – Newsletters or bulletins

7 Why Nutrition? Knowledge in nutrition will help you understand how: To make better food choices It effects your health It is linked to reducing the risk of chronic disease

8 Mind and Body Studies show that healthy eating and daily physical activity have a profound impact on the body and mind by: –Increasing ability to learn and comprehend –Boosting energy –Improving school attendance –Increasing self-confidence –Changing attitudes, behavior and more

9 Let’s Make An Impact As a NAC member, you can encourage others to: –Have good eating habits –Explore the world of nutrition –Be physically active every day
