More examples “So many discards before sending this” “Fear opens the door for opportunity.” “There's always something to laugh about.” “Looked both ways. Hit by bus.” “She died. I couldn’t say goodbye.” “I achieved humble - kicking and screaming.” “If I don’t score, I failed.” “Basketball, more than just a sport.”

Why do we do this? It is an exercise in writing. It forces you to choose words economically and with care. Your memoir is about you. It can be about your life in total, a dream or goal you might have, or an event that you feel has shaped your life. You choose!

Wrapping it up! Complete the pre-write today. You will turn it in with your memoir. Tomorrow, you will create your memoir on construction paper. Your will be displayed on class, so do not write your name on your memoir. You will write on the back of the memoir. Homework: draft your memoir on the back of the prewrite. Only 6 words!
