Latest Upgrades to iPortal
15
iPortal To enhance the customer’s ability to manage their assets, iPortal now provides online asset management and a secure document interface that allows the customer to publish documents associated with their assets directly to the Lab’s server. This keeps all the information associated with the customer’s asset in one database under the control of the lab. This is referred to as the “Lab Centric” view within iPortal – and is a one-way update to the lab’s database by the customer. Below is a schematic of this view: LAB’s iPortal Database Customer A Customer B Customer C Customer F Customer G Customer T Customer R Customer B In this view the customer is updating asset information to the Lab’s iPortal database.
16
iPortal The next few slides show how the Lab-centric view is put into practice. The User Gage Admin option allows the customers to manage basic information about their assets that they send to the lab. Information like location, department, serial number. This information is normally “called in” to the lab and updated by a lab employee. This is very time consuming. Providing the capability for the customer to manage their asset information in the system eliminates the phone calls and allows the lab to bid on assets that they may not be calibrating for a customer.
17
iPortal The User Gage Admin Edit page is a simple to use interface for updating basic information about an asset. Updates are made by the customer and saved to a table in the Lab’s iPortal database.
18
iPortal The View History option within the user administration interface allows the customer to view historical information that is stored for their assets. On the page to the left the asset with ID AWC-001 has two historical records that are saved to the online database. The customer can EDIT the information, add Support information or delete the record if they choose to. The support information can be a document that is uploaded to the lab as well to maintain all information in one database.
19
iPortal The Secure Document Center, which is the method used to store additional information for an asset, allows the customer to load files of any type up to the Lab’s server. Of course, this option is only available to a customer if the Lab chooses to provide it. In this case, there is a SQL file that was uploaded by the customer. There is a Delete function on this page that provides an opportunity for the customer to delete the document if they choose to. As many documents as needed can be uploaded and stored in this manner.
20
iPortal To enhance the customer’s ability to manage their assets, the next step is to provide the customer with our latest product called AMP – Asset Management Portal. AMP provides the Customer-centric view of asset data and allows the customer to manage ALL of their asset data in- house regardless of which lab they send their assets to for calibration. This is a two-way update interface, where data is stored by the LAB in it’s iPortal database and synchronized (through two-way updates) with the Customer’s AMP database. This provides the customer with a single view of all their assets regardless of the lab they are sending the asset to and motivates the Labs that calibrate the Customer’s assets to buy iPortal to automatically synchronize the asset information. Customer’s AMP Database LAB A LAB B LAB C LAB F LAB G LAB T LAB R LAB B In this view the customer is updating asset information in their AMP database at their site and synchronizing it with the LAB’s iPortal database.
21
iPortal A recent addition to the iPortal interface is bi- directional communication between the customer and the lab. The customer has context- sensitive request capability to inquirer about an asset directly to the lab without the use of email. The interface tracks the communications in the iPortal database creating an audit trail of the exchanges. Emails can be lost or deleted. The communication within the iPortal interface is saved permanently. The next few slides show how the interface works.
22
iPortal Initially a request is made to the lab regarding an asset. On this page, the list of requests is provided to the lab to review. A status of the request is listed as well as the name of the Requestor, their Company, the date of the request and the Subject. The lab’s administrator simply clicks on the icon for a particular record to open the dialog page and respond to the requestor.
23
iPortal An example request is generated using the dialog page on the left. The requestor simply completes the required fields, enters their request or question regarding an asset and submits the request. The asset information in the iPortal database is automatically added to the request and saved when the request is submitted.
24
iPortal As the lab and the customer communicate on the issue, the information is saved and shown as a running dialog. The lab administrator has the option to close the issue once they have satisfied the customer.
25
iPortal As the customer reviews their asset information – as an example, through the In-work Inquiry page – they can locate the asset record in question and click the appropriate “Additional Info” icon to generate the request to the lab.
26
iPortal This page is the page used by the customer to enter their inquiry to the lab. The extended information is retrieved from the iPortal database and added automatically to the inquiry.
27
iPortal On this page, you will notice the additional information that has been previously provided. The “Previous Message” section of the page tracks the dialog and captures the content in the iPortal database.
28
iPortal On the bottom portion of the same page you will notice the lab’s response to the inquire. The dialog content grows until the issue is closed. This provides the audit trail of the conversation and is a very useful tool for reviewing information that is electronic shared.
