Welcome and Introductions Quick Overview Economy Economy developing well with employment levels back to pre recession and GVA in the LEP has increased by over £2.2bn between 2009 and 2013 (£16.5bn to £18.7bn) But Skills, Infrastructure, and business productivity challenges remain Our Focus is on Core City, Connected County, Competitive Urban Centres, Sector Growth, Skilled Workforce We work with other LEPs and partners to secure the best outcomes for our communities There’s a lot more as well on the fact sheet…..

LEP and Housing Issues Nearly 3,400 homes per annum need to be built to meet existing commitments Economic Impact Lack of local affordable housing limits business growth Every £1 spent on construction generates a further £2.09 on economic activity, higher than the return to most other sectors including advanced manufacturing and finance; 50,000 new homes create 75,000 new jobs; LEP Action and Investment Local Growth Fund, Growing Places Fund, Skills investment
