The President’s FY 2012 Budget The President’s overall FY 2012 Budget will put us on a path toward fiscal sustainability in the next few years. The President’s Budget makes it clear that education remains a priority for the Administration. Education’s investments are focused on 5 core priorities: 1.Early Learning 2.Innovation and Reform 3.Protecting Formula Programs for At-Risk Populations 4.Building Excellent Instructional Teams 5.College Access and Completion

Highlights of STEM in the ED FY12 Budget $206M for Effective Teaching and Learning: STEM (+$26M from 2011 CR). $80M from Teacher and Leader Pathways set aside to prepare and retrain effective STEM teachers. (Announced in SOTU.) $185M for new Presidential Teaching Fellows program. STEM will be a priority in I3. New $90M for ARPA-ED. $3B+ for STEM education across all Federal agencies.
